The Keys, with its two main islands, at either end of the archipelago: Key West and Key Largo. We offer a day trip to visit the Keys’ numerous islands, some public, some private, or protected, taking you from Key Largo to Islamorada.
This is the northernmost island, and therefore the closest to Miami, and the second most well-known of the Keys after Key West. It was made famous by the film “Key Largo”, starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall…
A stop at …CARRIBEAN CLUB, Key Largo is a stop you just have to make.
Fans of the Bloodline series will enjoy the Caribbean Club bar. The bar uncannily resembles the one in the series: it is one of the rare and less-touristy venues, where locals come to smoke cigarettes and enjoy a stiff drink. It is a place where you will find an authentic atmosphere, in surroundings so superb they were chosen as the location for the film Key Largo and the series Bloodline.
This is a smaller and quieter Key than Key Largo and Key West, and it includes six islands. It is a popular destination for families and fishing enthusiasts. Islamorada is known as the “world capital of recreational fishing” and is home to the greatest fishing fleet by a square meter of the world.
A stop at Robbie’s of Islamorada
Robbie’s offers a wide range of nautical activities, including fishing, free-diving, boat rentals, eco-tours, and more importantly: feeding the tarpon. For more than 30 years, the main attraction of the establishment is to feed the tarpon, and they are known the world over for this rather unique experience.
Robbie’s also has souvenir shops, stalls selling local handcrafted goods, and the restaurant Hungry Tarpon where you can have lunch.
Come and sample a unique American-Caribbean atmosphere, complete with fish specialties and the not-to-be-missed Florida Stone Crab, which are known for their delicious claws, eaten with a mustard sauce, the Conch Fritters (symbol of the Keys), the crab cake or a lobster sandwich and of course the world-famous Key Lime Pie.
A hyper-active afternoon
